What Does Kathy Hilton Really Think Of Kyle’s Divorce?
Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards have often had an eggshell relationship. They were very on and off, partly due to their husbands’ work relationship. Kyle’s now estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky worked for Kathy’s husband, Rick Hilton at his firm, Hilton and Hyland. In the early seasons of RHOBH, Mauricio shared that he had been approached to start his own real estate agency. Yet, he knew this decision could cause dissension between Kyle and her sister’s family. Still, Kyle encouraged him to go for it, regardless of the consequences. They spent years apart, further exacerbated by Kyle’s television show, American Woman, loosely based on her mother’s life.
Eventually, the sisters reunited until Kathy raged on a show trip to Aspen. It left Lisa Rinna scarred and Kathy and Kyle on the outs. They have since repaired their relationship and the timing is perfect. Currently, Kyle is ready to divorce Mauricio after they have been separated since late Summer/ early Fall 2023. Though they live in the same home, he is looking for his own place. So, how does Kathy feel about what has been going on between her sister and brother-in-law?
According to People, Kyle appeared on Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa on SiriusXM and shared how Kathy Hilton has been during all of this:
“We are in a very good place. … She will call me, text me and [say], ‘I just love you and I’m here for you no matter what. You’re always my baby sister.’”
Kyle Richards also noted that her sister has been “very supportive” while she figures out her next steps in her marriage. Of course, viewers saw Kathy talking about Kyle’s decision to leave Mauricio as she was prepping to step onto the reunion stage.
Kathy Thought It Was A Long Time Coming
When Kathy Hilton was speaking about Kyle Richards’ split from Mauricio Umansky, she alleged that it had been a long time coming.
“[Kyle’s] not a compulsive person. She didn’t decide this in three months. For sure, I bet she had been thinking — in my feeling — probably in the last three, four years.”
However, Kyle said that was not the case and she had hoped it was a temporary feeling. Unfortunately, it turned into a more permanent situation and Kyle had to figure out what to do next. She admits that she loves Mauricio as a friend and that’s where they stand.
