The sci-fi movie Logan’s Run turns 50 on June 23, 2026, and it still feels like one of the most distinct futuristic films of the 1970s. Based on the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, the film imagines a sealed-off world where youth is everything, and no one is supposed to live past 30. Michael York starred as Logan 5, a Sandman who starts out hunting Runners before learning the truth about the society he serves.
