Someone Close To Alec Goes Missing

The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 Spoilers Say He Will Be Searching For Rose

Alec can’t catch a break.

According to The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers, he’ll realize that new girlfriend Rose’s disappearance is not only an abduction, but an extraordinary one.

He and his team will have to put all their neuroscience knowledge to the test to find her, and the clock is ticking.

Yep, this episode will use the TV trope of the kidnapper threatening to kill a missing person after a certain amount of time.

It’s one of the easiest ways to create suspense and raise the stakes, and it’ll be especially effective given Alec’s PTSD from his other experiences with violence.

This case should also require that he and Marisa work together again, so his ex-wife will be helping him find his new girlfriend.

Talk about awkward!

Fortunately, Marisa isn’t the type to cause arguments or act petty because Alec isn’t her husband anymore. There won’t be a twisted love triangle this time, thankfully!

Still, it’s an open question how this case will affect her relationship with Alec.

Marisa also has trauma of her own to deal with from her boyfriend’s murder in Season 1, but The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers don’t say anything about her reactions.

Spoiler photos depict her accompanying the FBI on a raid of what looks like an empty warehouse, so there will likely be some false leads along the way.

Hopefully, Alec won’t lash out at her in grief and fear when that happens.

This Probably Won’t Be A Season-Long Arc

Rose Will Be Found Soon So That The Show Can Move On

Hopefully, The Irrational will not take a page from Found Season 2‘s book and drag out the search for Rose.

The showrunners wouldn’t release The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers that give away whether Rose is found in this episode because that would defeat the purpose of watching.

Still, we know that this season will be more focused on the case of the week instead of a season-long arc, so it’s likely Rose will be found by the end of the episode.

It’s better drama if she is found quickly because then the show can move on to what the trauma of her ordeal means for her relationship with Alec.

The Search For Rose Is Interspersed With Other Things

There are plenty of photos showing The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers related to Alec’s other career.

I’ve always loved how he’s bookended the week’s stories with his lectures, and the photos for this one look particularly interesting.

Alec will be teaching about triggers and how they affect decision making, which is a subject close to my heart because in my non-writing life, I’m an advocate for trauma survivors.

Alec’s slide about the Medicare fraud story is especially interesting.

He’s likely explaining how mental health issues related to PTSD make it difficult to evaluate these scenarios clearly.

These insights into the intersection of neuroscience and psychology are fascinating, and they make The Irrational a unique show among police procedurals. I hope we get a lot of them this season!

The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers also depict Alec talking to Rizwan and Phoebe.

Phoebe left Alec’s department in search of a fellowship with a professor that would involve less risk-taking.

The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers don’t have any insight into how she ends up back on Alec’s team, but I can’t wait to find out what her story is.

Kylie Has A New Job On The Irrational Season 2

Her Work With The FBI May Cause Her To Clash With Alec

Kylie accepted a new job offer at the end of The Irrational Season 1, and it’s one that changes everything for her and Alec.

The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers show Kylie and Alec having what appears to be a tense conversation in the FBI office.

Kylie’s new position might give her access to information that Alec doesn’t have, and she’s no longer reporting only to him.

That’ll be frustrating for Alec at work, and it will probably also change their home life.

Alec can often be the type of person who is difficult to hang out with.

He is driven, hyperfocused, and often demanding, yet also needs caretaking to some degree. It’s difficult for him to live on his own because of his past trauma.

Thus, Kylie being in a position with more access to information and more authority than him will be interesting.

This is all speculation, as The Irrational Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers don’t say anything about it, but Kylie may not be as available to him as she used to be, and she may not be able to follow his directions if they conflict with her boss’ orders.

Alec also doesn’t adapt well to change, so Kylie’s new position will cause him stress.

Perhaps when he’s teaching about triggers, he will gain some new insights into himself.
