Vanessa Lachey Was The Franchise’s First Female Lead

By now, everyone has heard the shocking news that CBS canceled NCIS: Hawaii. This seemed impossible as this was a strike-shortened season. In addition, they added LL Cool J to the mix. Unfortunately, as Vanessa Lachey shared, they were “blindsided” by this decision.

Just two weeks ago the network was celebrating 1,000 NCIS episodes. Moreover, Vanessa was profiled in People Magazine. That is because she is the franchise’s first female lead. This is a distinction that Vanessa did not take lightly.

It’s an honor to be able to add to this incredible franchise and to do it as the first female lead has meant more to me than I can ever express. It shows the incredible evolution and longevity that NCIS continues to give its fans.

Lastly, fans of the Hawaii spinoff, are you also gutted that CBS canceled?
