‘Below Deck Down Under’: Chef Ryan Loses His Job For Losing His Cool?

TV Shows

The Below Deck Down Under midseason trailer dropped last month. Fans are just catching up with the latest episode, which streamed on Thursday, April 28. Towards the end of the episode, Chef Ryan McKeown gets into an argument with Captain Jason Chambers. He defies his boss, who wants him to do a better job with his dishes.

This causes Jason to lose his cool. He’s cursing himself since he had a chef waiting in the wings. Unfortunately, that chef went on to work on another yacht. Jason waited a little too long because he wanted to see if Ryan’s dishes would improve.

Who gets fired on Below Deck Down Under?

The drama will continue to unfold in the debut season of Below Deck Down Under. It’s already giving the other series a run for their money since it’s already living up to the hype. The midseason trailer teased that someone could get fired. Chef Ryan McKeown is known for his arrogance more than his work ethic this season.

In the latest episode of Below Deck Down Under, he butts heads with his boss. For much of the season, he doesn’t get along with chief stew Aesha Scott. For some reason, he sees her as a threat in the galley. Ryan makes it clear that he likes to do things his own way.

Ryan wants to do service his way, even though that’s left to the stewardess. He also wants to cook as little as possible. Most of his dishes only include the main dish, never any sides or desserts. Ryan often leaves charter guests less than satisfied and hungrier than ever.

Ryan crosses Captain Jason in the galley. He threatened to replace the Below Deck Down Under chef due to his poor personality and lack of ambition. After the previous episode, it could happen. Ryan ignores the charter guests’ requests once again when it comes to dinner service.

Will Chef Ryan lose his job?

After the latest episode of Below Deck Down Under, Ryan could lose his job after losing his cool in the galley. This week’s charter is important to Jason since he’s friends with them. He already joined them for dinner, during which there were plating issues and overly salty food.

“I’m sitting at the dinner table with a friend of mine, who is the primary. This is embarrassing,” Captain Jason says in his confessional. “Ryan needs less attitude and less salt.”

He has a talk with Ryan in the crew mess. Ryan doesn’t take to constructive criticism well. He told the captain that he was feeding the guests, not him. Then Ryan gets up and leaves.

Things get worse when the captain finds out that Ryan didn’t cook the fresh seafood the guests caught earlier that day. He promised them that he would cook it for dinner. He asks Ryan what happened and the chef gets huffy once again.

Jason warns him, “I copped your bulls*** downstairs, I won’t cop it again…I don’t want your attitude and I won’t f***ing cop it one more second.”

Below Deck Down Under fans wonder if Ryan will get fired. Others have a feeling that Magda could lose her job since she looks at her phone more than she does her work. What are your thoughts? Sound off below in the comment section.
