Country music star Lainey Wilson recently made a surprise appearance during a recent football game. During the game, she even ended up getting caught on camera. In fact, she made quite an impression on a reporter covering the moment.
Lainey Wilson Recently Appeared At The AT&T Stadium In Texas
Wilson is a country music singer-songwriter who started her career in the early 2010s. Some of her most famous songs include “Heart Like A Truck,” “Things A Man Oughta Know,” and “Watermelon Moonshine.”
In 2022, fans saw Wilson make her television debut in Yellowstone, playing the part of Abby. She appeared in five episodes during the fifth and final season.
Recently, Wilson made a surprise appearance at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. At the time, the Dallas Cowboys faced a 16-24 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
During the game, ESPN reporter Jane Slater found herself starstruck by the country star in the middle of her reporting for a SportsCenter segment. At the time, Wilson appeared on the field dressed all in white, complete with a cowgirl hat, trousers, and jacket. The musician appeared to be with the Cowboys’ cheerleaders.
Slater apologized for not being able to keep her cool during the moment. Comparing her to another country icon, she shared, “She’s my Dolly Parton.”
ESPN’s Jane Slater Later Shared Clips Of The Moment On Social Media
ESPN host Christine Williamson also appeared to be shocked by Wilson’s appearance, widening her eyes at the news the star was there. For her part, Wilson appeared to be honored to have made such an impression, posing for a few photos with Slater.
Slater later poked fun at the moment on social media, sharing clips of her meeting Wilson. Taking to Instagram, she wrote in one post, “Couldn’t find the words during my [live shot.] At one point couldn’t even get out George Picken’s name. Here’s why. To my new bosses: don’t let this reflect poorly on my professionalism. I rarely geek and then did. She’s just sooo cool, [Lainey Wilson.]”
Taking to X, Slater similarly wrote, once again worried about the impression she made, “Trying to impress my new bosses fell short bc for the first time in my professional career I was starstruck. Lainey Wilson y’all! I die.”
