Connor Wood Stumbles Through Week 2
Popular podcaster Connor Wood is paired with Rylee Arnold for Season 35. They performed a Cha-Cha-Cha to Tim McGraw’s “I Like It, I Love It” for the premiere. The couple received a 16 out of 30, which isn’t bad for opening night. However, their second dance was a miss for the judges.
Connor Wood had several mistakes and stumbles during his Tango to Sombr’s “12 to 12.” His second dance with Rylee Arnold earned them a 15 out of 30. Despite his mistakes, they were safe for the night. Bruno Tonioli candidly addressed the errors in his critique.
“I’m going to be brutally honest because I really liked what you two do. When you are connected, when you’re on it, you present beautiful lines, clear, crisp. You can do it. There were a lot of mistakes tonight, and you know that. … But the good bits were excellent. Remember that,” he told Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold.
However, the longtime judge had more words of wisdom that only Connor Wood heard.
DWTS Contestant Reveals Bruno Tonioli’s Secret Words Of Wisdom
Connor Wood approached the judges’ table at the end of the dance to thank them. He shook Derek Hough’s hand right before Bruno Tonioli called him back over. The DWTS judge whispered secret advice to the contestant.
Connor Wood revealed to E! News what words of wisdom Bruno gave him. “We were obviously cut off, but long story short, it was just like, ‘You know this stuff.’ And I was like, ‘I know, I know this stuff,’” Connor Wood spilled to the outlet. Unfortunately, Bruno’s advice was cut short.
The DWTS contestant added, “He was about to give me this golden piece of information, and they called me up. We had to go. The sentiment was that he was like, ‘I believe in you,’ essentially.”
Bruno Tonioli didn’t give him an edge over the other contestants, but just some encouragement to keep going. Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold perform a Foxtrot to “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac on Yacht Rock Night.
