Before returning to Today‘s Studio 1A, Dylan Dreyer gave fans a look inside her recent summer vacation.
The meteorologist was one of several hosts absent from the NBC morning show last week. She was back on Today on Monday, August 3, filling in for Al Roker and Carson Daly on the show’s earlier hours before returning to her role as a third hour of Today co-host.
One day before coming back to Today, Dreyer gave fans a glimpse inside her week-long hiatus via Instagram by sharing several snaps from her family’s beach getaway. “Hate to leave paradise on my birthday but it’s time to get back to reality,” she captioned the Sunday, August 2, upload. “Another year, another amazing annual family vacation! I’m so blessed to share wonderful memories with some of my favorite people!”
The post’s first slide featured a sweet group photo of Dreyer and her family enjoying a meal together. Other snaps included pics of the family going to the beach, relaxing by the pool, eating at restaurants, and posing for photos together. Dreyer’s upload also featured several pics of herself with her three sons: Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty.
“Looks like a great vacation!” one fan commented underneath the post. Referring to photos featuring Dreyer sporting a swimsuit, another wrote, “Dylan! Those abs! GOALS!” Someone else shared a similar comment, stating, “Dylan ‘Abs’ Dreyer you definitely have a good fitness program! Looks like Calvin is stepping on your toes.”
A different person posted, “OMG! By this time next yr, Calvin will be as tall as you! Miss his cooking segments.” A separate commenter stated, “Happiest Birthday Dylan! Glad you had a fun and relaxing vacation! The boys are growing up so fast. Handsome young boys. You are so blessed!” Another fan said, “Happy birthday, Dylan!! looks like you had a lovely time with family. You got to enjoy your birthday with Cal is almost as tall as you.”
Dreyer shares her kids with her estranged husband, Brian Fichera. Back in July 2025, she revealed via Instagram that the pair had quietly separated a few months prior. Dreyer officially filed for divorce in March.
Melvin wished Dreyer a “belated Happy Birthday” during Monday’s episode of the third hour of Today and asked how she celebrated her big day. “This week every year, we go down to Turks and Caicos. So, I was down there celebrating. I spent the day on the plane, flying back,” she shared. “It was so great. The weather is always amazing. It’s just a big family vacation we go on every year.”
Melvin and guest host Savannah Sellers went on to surprise Dreyer with some birthday gifts, including waffles and ice cream and custom golf balls featuring Melvin and Roker’s faces on them. “When you look down at that ball, we want to motivate you,” Melvin joked before adding, “You’re gonna hit it extra hard now, aren’t you? She’ll never miss.”
