
Welcome back to late night, James Corden! The former Late Late Show host is back for a talk show, this time on Fox, with the soccer fan right in the middle of things for the World Cup (check out the schedule here).
Corden previously hosted over 1,000 episodes of The Late Late Show, which ended in 2023. This new show, which isn’t a permanent gig, was announced as part of Fox’s upfront presentation in May. He joked on stage at the time that the name “rolls off the tongue.”

The new show will premiere on Thursday, June 11, after that day’s games, at midnight ET. Each episode is an hour long.
When will FIFA World Cup on Fox After Hours With James Corden air?
The show will be live every night throughout the World Cup. The World Cup runs from June 11 through July 19. FIFA World Cup on Fox After Hours With James Corden will run through July 15.
It will be airing on Fox because, as Corden put it during the upfront presentation, “they’ve got the rights to the games. I can’t stress this enough: If they didn’t have the rights to the games, I’d do this show on the network that did.”
What is FIFA World Cup on Fox After Hours With James Corden?
At the Fox upfront presentation, Corden shared, “It’s going to be me, former England soccer captain Rio Ferdinand, and one of my favorite comedians on planet Earth, Ian Karmel, and every night after the games, we’re going to be trying to have a lighthearted look at the World Cup, talking about the games, talking about anything that may have happened that day, and what we’re going to do is make it feel like if you couldn’t be out with your friends in a bar that night, we’ll be there to have some fun.”
Fox Sports describes it as “a fun, high-energy and comedic celebration of the ‘world’ of the FIFA World Cup.” It will “spotlight the tournament’s most talked-about moments and storylines of the day with every show featuring surprise guest appearances from some of the biggest names in pop culture and the beautiful game.”
Who’s joining James Corden on After Hours?
Joining Corden are FIFA World Cup legend and former England national team captain Rio Ferdinand and comedian Ian Karmel.
Ferdinand is known as one of the best defenders to play the sport, with his career spanning 18 years. He represented The Three Lions in three World Cup tournaments in 1998, 2002, and 2006 and had a 12-year run with Manchester United, winning six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League. He retired from soccer in 2015 and has since been a media broadcaster on television in the U.K. and a host on his YouTube channel.
Karmel is an Emmy-winning stand-up comedian, actor, podcaster, and writer. He was the head writer and in-studio sidekick on The Late Late Show.
