After Anna was cremated, they had her ashes made into a bracelet. Mama June wears it everywhere to keep her daughter’s memory alive.

“We very much still today, even six months later, keep her memory alive. For me, I personally have to talk about it all the time. She’s actually here with us today,” the family matriarch recently told PEOPLE. “She’s here. I always tote her around.”

According to June, that was all part of Anna’s dying wish. She wanted to be with the family in whatever way she could be.

“That was her thing, that she wanted to be cremated and toted around, so I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s go, girl,’” June explained.

Anna Cardwell’s Final Days Were A Surprising Turn Of Events For The Show

Death is part of life, but it’s not very common for viewers to see it all play out on their screens like this. It’s especially difficult for viewers knowing that Anna Cardwell doesn’t get better.

According to June Shannon, that was also an incredibly difficult journey for the family to navigate.

“We never thought that we would have to lose somebody in our family. We didn’t think we was going to experience that ever in reality TV,” she told PEOPLE.

The article also shares that Anna also had agency when it came to exploring her final days onscreen. WEtv was reportedly very respectful and didn’t include anything that Anna didn’t care for.
