The Five has its fourth permanent member again. Fox News is adding Emily Compagno to the lineup of the primetime news-talk show, the network announced on Monday, August 24.
In a statement, Suzanne Scott, CEO of the network, said, “Emily is a highly accomplished host whose energy and talent have made her a standout across Fox News Media, and we are thrilled to officially welcome her to the show.”
Compagno is a legal analyst and currently cohosts the afternoon show Outnumbered, which she will no longer host after her start on The Five (in her place, Fox News revealed, a rotating slate of guest hosts will fill in until a permanent cohost is chosen). She takes over the seat left empty by Jeanine Pirro after she became the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia under Donald Trump‘s second administration.
She will serve as a regular cohost alongside Jesse Watters, Greg Gutfeld, and Dana Perino, along with rotating liberal guest cohosts Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford Jr.
Compagno said in a statement about the news, “I couldn’t be more honored to join The Five, a team I have long admired and have been fortunate to work alongside over the years. Having an official seat at the table on what I truly believe is the most fun show on television is an incredible privilege. I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
She previously served as one of the many guest cohosts filling in for Pirro. She has also made regular appearances on Gutfeld! and hosts Fox News Radio’s The FOX True Crime Podcast w/Emily Compagno.
She’s expected to begin her tenure as regular cohost of The Five starting on Tuesday, September 8.
In addition to being a face of Fox News since 2018, Compagno has a history of legal practice. She previously practiced as a defense attorney in San Francisco and also practiced in civil litigation before working as a managing attorney and an acting director of the Social Security Administration.
