Was Rachael Kirkconnell Excluded From Matt James’s Memoir?

TV Shows

Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell had a bit of a turbulent start to their relationship, but they are enjoying their lives together. Matt just released a book that’s getting a lot of great reviews.

In Matt’s book, First Impressions, he covered all the things that are important to him. He talked about race and being the first Black man to get the lead on The Bachelor.  There was one part of his life allegedly left out of the book, and his girlfriend had something to say about it.

Matt James Is Getting Good Reviews

People are enjoying the truthful memoir Matt James wrote. One review was from actress Melora Hardin on Amazon. She said, “Matt’s willingness to be vulnerable, honest, and self-reflective about himself is a refreshing read.”

Rachael joked in her Instagram stories that she didn’t make the book. She shared a video of herself holding the book which, like all Bachelor Nation books, has a long title.

She holds First Impressions: Off-Screen Conversations With a Bachelor on Race, Family, and Forgiveness and pretends to wipe away a tear. According to People she said she “didn’t make it,” and, “maybe next time.”

Rachael Is Definitely In The Book

Despite Rachael joking on Instagram that she isn’t in Matt James’s book, that’s not the truth. He talked about the ending of his season on the show and how it felt to confront Rachael about her racially insensitive past.

While he initially supported her, when After the Final Rose aired he told her “he didn’t recognize the role that race would play between them.” The two broke up for a while after the pressure of the situation got to them, but they found their way back to each other.

The bubble they were in while they were on the show burst when they were no longer there. Rachael had told him things were out there on the internet, but he blew it off until he actually saw the picture. Coupled with a few questionably racist ‘likes’ on social media, they had a lot to work through. Rachael apologized as quickly as she could although she said there was a lot of pressure to stay quiet.

Kirkconnell said, “I think we’re in a really good place. We’ve had a lot of love come our way, but I like to think that even though people have been super, super nice, we just like to focus on each other.”

How do you feel about Rachael’s sense of humor? Would you have been surprised if she wasn’t in his book? Will you read Matt James’s book? Comment with your thoughts down below and come back to TV Shows Ace for all things Bachelor.
