The internet might be insistent that Frankie Valli is now retired, but the legendary singer is setting the record straight about those rumors.
On Friday (August 14), Valli responded to reports that he had finally hung up his hat from the entertainment business at the age of 92 by posting on social media.
“In spite of what you might have heard, I am not retired. – Frankie,” the Four Seasons alum wrote on Facebook, alongside a photo of himself holding a microphone on a stage.
Previously, Bobby Valli, shared a post that got the rumor mill spinning in which he captioned a photo of the two together with a statement (in all caps), which read, “My brother Frankie, whom I am so proud of an love him dearly. He has had a wonderful life a dream come true. He is an incredible singer. Has had [a] manigificent career in music, an icon, a living legend. He has millions of fans who love him dearly. he is now 92 years old. In his illustrious career, he has sold over 100 million records, [made the] R&R Hall of Fame. He has been performing for six decades. We are all hoping for a speedy recovery and that he can continue to tour and perform his music around the world. We all have special memories of Frankie Valli. He has reached a place in his life where if needed, his family is there t olove, cherish, and to be there to for him.”
Select outlets interpreted that statement to indicate that Franki Valli was ready to quit the business, but his own post indicates the opposite.
Valli also previously canceled his Last Encores Tour with the Four Seasons over health concerns but was later spotted out and about in Los Angeles earlier this week by Page Six.
“I’m sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows,” he wrote in an Instagram post in late May. “But I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health.”
Valli, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and received his first-ever Grammy Award with the 2025 LifeTime Achievement Award, is perhaps best known for singles like “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night),” and “Grease.”
