It’s been almost five years since Bob Saget’s sad and shocking death at the age of 65. The comedian fell in a hotel room after a performance and ultimately passed away. His Full House co-stars continue to honor his memory. In a heartbreaking confession, Jodie Sweetin opened up about how “quiet” life is without her beloved TV dad.
Jodie Sweetin Reveals How ‘Quiet’ Life Is Without Bob Saget
Full House was a top-rated sitcom in the early 1990s. The series followed a widowed father of three young girls raising them with the help of his brother-in-law, Jesse, and friend, Joey. Comedian Bob Saget nearly missed out on playing Danny Tanner. The actor was the show’s first choice but had other commitments. As luck would have it, his prior commitment was canceled and he took over the role of the family patriarch from John Posey.

Full House helped launch the careers of child stars Candace Cameron Bure (DJ,) Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie,) and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Michelle.) The cast also featured adult actors Bob Saget, John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) Dave Coulier (Joey) and Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky.) The show aired on ABC for eight seasons.
With the exception of the Olsen twins, the cast reunited in 2018 for Netflix’s Fuller House reboot. Despite his television stardom, Bob Saget never gave up his stand-up comedy routine. He was on tour in Florida when he passed away in 2022. His death hit his co-stars hard.

Jodie Sweetin revealed in a new interview with SheKnows just how much of a hole Bob Saget’s death left. “The Full House group chat is very quiet now that Bob’s gone,” the actress said. “He was always one of the first to say happy birthday or the first to start planning something.”
Still Close With Other Full House Cast
Bob Saget’s death changed the dynamic of the Full House group chat. However, it didn’t change the bond between the former co-stars. If anything, it strengthened it. Jodie Sweetin and John Stamos lean on each other to stay sober. The cast reunites often in the last few years at various fan conventions around the country.
“Every time we get together, there’s always a moment when we’re like, ‘Bob should be here,’”Jodie Sweetin admitted to SheKnows. “It does break your heart when you get everybody together and there’s one person missing.”

Despite the sadness, she looks at the bigger picture. “I just love the fact that we constantly talk about Bob, and I’m sure he would love that too because he loved the attention.”
The Full House cast does their best to keep Bob Saget’s memory alive. But it sounds like someone else needs to step up and keep the group chat more active.
