We’ll start with Car Masters: Rust to Riches, which has been on Netflix since 2018 and will be entering its sixth season, which will presumably bring the series to 48 episodes and make it the second longest active reality series on Netflix with only Queer Eye still active before it. The most recent season, season 5, dropped on Netflix globally in December 2023.

The series’s premise follows Mark Towle and a group of other mechanics who are giving classic cars complete overhauls. Last season, the team built a tribute to the ’69 Dodge Charger Daytona, modified a Tesla unusually, and modified a Ferrari 360 Spider.

Switching gears to Tex Mex Motors, which debuted with its first season of 8 episodes on June 9th, 2023.

The show has a similar format and premise to Car Masters, following mechanics turning old junk cars imported from Mexico to their shop in El Paso to turn them into modern masterpieces.

Season 2 of the show has been in production through the first few months of 2024.

Both shows are produced by MAK Pictures for Netflix, with some of their other shows including 28 Days Haunted, Pirate Gold of Adak Island and Drive Hard: The Maloof Way for Netflix and Ghosts of Devil’s Perch, I Went Undercover and Everest’s Greatest Mysteries for other distributors.

Netflix’s other slate of returning reality series includes its lineup of dating shows like The Circle, Love is Blind, and Too Hot to Handle, with other shows including Queer Eye, Selling Sunset, Barbecue Showdown, Outlast, and Sugar Rush.
