Is ‘SWAT’ Really Canceled? Shemar Moore Gives Fans Hope

TV Shows

For fans of the hit CBS drama, SWAT, the news that came out last spring was not good. That was when CBS announced it would be canceling the beloved crime drama. The network had decided not to renew the hit show. Even after knowing for about a year, SWAT would not be returning for an eighth season, Shemar Moore has a different hope and opinion for the show.

Shemar Moore’s Opinion Of SWAT  Returning

Shemar Moore has a difference of opinion with the executives at CBS. This difference of opinion is specifically with the executives that canceled SWAT early last year.  He believes is it possible for his hit television to make its way back into the lineup at CBS.

Shemar Moore is no stranger to CBS executives. The talented and handsome actor has been dealing with them for a long time. Before starring on SWAT, Moore was also the star of another CBS hit crime drama. That crime drama was Criminal Minds. Before he spent time in the CBS evening lineup, he was a part of The Young And The Restless cast. It is quite possible he knows what he is talking about.

Can Can Shemar Moore Save SWAT?

Shemar Moore may have plan to save the crime drama he has been a part of for about half of a decade. “But, if [viewers] make enough noise, [and] if we indeed kill it, we’re gonna make those powerful people that make shows happen and cancel shows…think about themselves,” the television star stated in a recent interview.

It is possible that one statement from Shemar Moore is a battle cry. The actor could be calling for the fans of SWAT to band together. If enough fans complained enough, made “enough noise” as the actor said, the powers that be at CBS might change their minds. They could put the show back in the CBS lineup.

SWAT  Could Live On Elsewhere

Even if CBS goes ahead with its plan to cancel SWAT, it would not necessarily mean the end of the show. Just like the crime drama Shemar Moore was a part of before, it SWAT could be aired on one of the many streaming services available. Criminal Minds did this. Despite no longer being on CBS, Criminal Minds is now a part of the Paramount+ streaming service.

Tell us what you think. Do you think CBS is really going to cancel SWAT? Is it possible Shemar Moore is right about it coming back? Do you think the actor is trying to rally the fans to save the crime drama? Would you be willing to watch SWAT on a streaming service? Is it being on a streaming service a good idea or even possible?
