Netflix’s Live-Action One Piece At Risk Of Cancellation?

As anime fans know, One Piece is the longest-running anime series with arguably one of the largest fan bases. Presently, the anime series is still releasing new episodes. The early reviews are already in and fans of One Piece are IN LOVE with this adaptation.

As subscribers and anime fans know, the streaming service also took a risk and created a live-action of Cowboy Bebop. The series, however, reportedly did not perform well enough for the streaming giant to hold onto it.

It was canned after a single season. Fans were furious. Understandably, this has One Piece fans concerned it may suffer the same fate.

As mentioned previously, chatter on social media suggests the live-action One Piece is everything fans hoped for and more. Unfortunately, that isn’t giving fans peace of mind. A show doing well and being extremely popular hasn’t stopped Netflix from pulling the plug in the past.

On Twitter, many subscribers are tagging Netflix and asking how many weeks will pass before they break everyone’s hearts and cancel the series despite it being a “masterpiece.”

As TV Shows Ace has previously reported, Julie And The Phantoms was an extremely popular romantic musical that developed a huge fan base. Moreover, the cast grew very close and rallied for the renewal of the series. Sadly, Netflix pulled the plug anyway.

Many subscribers have taken to social media to beg anyone with a Netflix account to watch One Piece simply to save the series from cancellation. Several have also threatened Netflix not to cancel the series “or else.”

Do you think Netflix could pull the plug on this live adaptation after just one season? Or, do you think the streaming giant is going to give the series a fair chance? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. And, keep coming back for more TV news and updates.
