Here is what we know about the hospitalization and what is wrong with Oprah.

Oprah Winfrey Admitted To Hospital

Howeverr, while Gayle King let fans know something was wrong with Oprah, she let a little too much information slip out. It was definitely a case of TMI when it came to her best friend. Oprah planned to help promote a new book by David Wroblewski that is part of Oprah’s Book Club.

Gayle told the audience that her friend couldn’t make it because she had a bad stomach bug. Gayle then went way overboard in describing the situation. “She had some kind of stomach thing — stomach flu — stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic. Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, had to get an IV, it was a very serious thing.”

She didn’t want to get “too graphic” but made sure to let everyone know “stuff was coming out of both ends.” Gayle then said Oprah was getting better and hoped she wouldn’t mind letting people know the health news.

Oprah, 68, had signed on to appear on CBS Mornings with Gayle King to introduce David Wroblewski and his new book Familiaris. Oprah also promoted his last book, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, which he published in 2008. Familiaris is a sequel to that novel.

Gayle King said she got detailed about what was wrong with her friend because Oprah wanted to be there to support Wroblewski. However, she couldn’t make it. “I wanted to make it clear that [the book] matters to her and it really bothered her that she couldn’t be here today,” Gayle said. “She so, so loved this book.”

Winfrey herself called the book an “extraordinary journey that brilliantly interweaves history, philosophy, adventure, and mysticism to explore the meaning of love, friendship and living your life’s true purpose.”
